Who this policy is for
Cindy lets businesses answer calls, reply to leads and send follow-ups by phone and text. This policy explains the rules businesses must follow when they use Cindy, and what people who receive calls and texts through Cindy can expect. It is part of our Terms of Service.
Each business that uses Cindy is the sender of its own calls and texts. That business is responsible for following the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), carrier rules and state laws. This page is a summary, not legal advice.
If you receive texts through Cindy
- Opt out: reply STOP at any time to stop texts from that business. You may get one final message confirming you have opted out.
- Get help: reply HELP for help, or contact the business that texted you.
- Frequency: message frequency varies based on your conversation with the business.
- Cost: message and data rates may apply.
- Carriers: carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- No purchase required: consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase.
- Privacy: we do not share mobile numbers or text opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. See our Privacy Policy.
You can also opt out by replying with words such as STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE or QUIT, or by telling the business another reasonable way.
Texts from Cindy itself
If you give us your phone number on usecindy.com, for example to book a demo, and agree to receive texts, we may text you about your demo and our Service. The same rules apply: reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Questions: team@usecindy.com.
Rules for businesses using Cindy
Get consent first
You must have the consent the law requires before Cindy calls or texts a lead. A lead texting or calling you first can allow replies about that request. Marketing calls and texts generally need prior express written consent. Calls that use an AI-generated voice are treated as artificial or prerecorded voice calls under the TCPA, so they need consent too.
- Use clear consent language on your forms, ads and booking pages that names your business and the kinds of messages people will get.
- Do not pre-check consent boxes or make consent a condition of purchase.
- Keep records of when and how each person gave consent.
- Do not text or call purchased, rented or shared lists.
Honor opt-outs
Stop calling or texting anyone who opts out, by STOP reply or any other reasonable way, as quickly as the law requires. Keep an internal do-not-call list and check the National Do Not Call Registry and state lists before marketing calls or texts.
Respect quiet hours
Federal rules limit marketing calls to between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. in the recipient’s local time. Some states set shorter hours, limit how many times you may contact someone, or restrict contact on certain days. Set your Cindy hours and follow-up settings to match the strictest rules that apply to your recipients.
Identify yourself
Each message should make clear which business it is from. Follow any law that requires telling people they are speaking with an automated system or AI.
Register for 10DLC
US carriers require businesses that text from standard 10-digit numbers to register their brand and messaging campaigns (10DLC). You must give accurate business details and describe your messages truthfully. Unregistered or misdescribed traffic may be filtered, blocked or fined by carriers.
Follow carrier content rules
Do not send content carriers prohibit, such as content about illegal drugs, hate speech, adult content or deceptive offers. Some topics, such as alcohol, firearms and tobacco, have extra restrictions.
Call recording and transcription
Cindy can record and transcribe calls. You are responsible for giving any notices and getting any consents required by federal and state law before a call is recorded or transcribed. Several states require the consent of every party to a call. A clear greeting such as “This call may be recorded” is a common way to give notice. Ask your lawyer what your business needs.

What we may do
To protect recipients and our carrier relationships, we may review sending patterns, pause calls or texts, or suspend accounts that appear to break this policy, the law or carrier rules.
